Romanian Center for Cross-Cultural Studies
Who are we?
Since 2001 CRST’s vision is to equip Romanian Christians for taking the Good News to the least reached. We achieve this through training our students in a framework of excellence where they benefit from spiritual development and theoretical and practical training.
How long does the training program take?
CRST offers a two-year program. In the first year the students go through basic Bible and introductory mission courses while in the second year the school curriculum contains mission courses which focus on learning necessary skills for cross-cultural communication, bivocational ministry, methods of learning new languages and evangelism in Islamic, Buddhist and Hindu context. The professors of the school are highly academic lecturers, both Romanian and foreign most of them with rich experience in missions.

Can I take certain courses at CRST without enrolling for the 2-year programme?
Yes! Courses are structured in modules, so a course runs for a week or sometimes two weeks. Foreign teachers teach in English and translation into Romanian is provided.
What does the school campus look like?
The school campus offers two classrooms, a library equipped with missiological literature, accommodation for all students and meals provided during the week.
Who can register for CRST?
Registration for CRST is based on application and interview. The candidate for the admission interview must be a person walking with the Lord in his everyday life, a member of an Evangelical Christian church who has a calling for cross-cultural ministry and committed to go on the mission field after graduation. The candidate must also submit a recommendation from the pastor of his church,to have passed the baccalaureate exam (exceptions will be discussed in private) and be clinically healthy.
What about the internship?
Located in the ethnic diversity area of Dobrogea, CRST aims to expose the student to evangelizing other-culture peoples. During the weekends the students get involved in evangelistic projects coordinated by churches in the area, interacting with people who belong to different ethnic groups. Towards the end of the first year the students participate in the short-term mission trip organized in a ministry field such as Turkey, Albania, or Kosovo. During this time, they observe the way Romanian missionaries serve on the field and they get a better understanding of the importance of contextualization in missions. In the second semester of the second year the students choose a country for their 2 months internship, where they will serve along experienced missionaries while seeking God’s guidance for the country and people they will commit to serve after graduation.
